Portfolio Task 1

The two charts shown represent the rates in Australian,and British cinema markets in 2000 and the cinema attendance in these nations from 1980-2000.
The first chart labeled as chart 1 represents the films that are shown in Britain and Australia by origin in the year 2000. In the chart movies with US origins shown in Britain reached a rate of approximately 78% which was more than the US films in Australia which is approximately 68%.
British films on the other hand, the films that are originated from Britain itself, reached about 21% in Britain. Australian films shown in Britain are 0%, absolutely nothing. In Australian films of Australian origins is about 11%. In the others category it is 15% in Australia, and approximately 2% in Britain.
The second chart represents cinema attendance in Britain and Australia throughout the years from 1980 to 2000. British attendances are considerably higher in rate than the Australian attendances. In 1980 British attendances are 100 million and Australian was a mere 40 million. The rates decreased considerably in 1982 where in Britain, it dropped to 50 million and in Australia it dropped to 20 million. From 1982-1984 the rates have faced a huge increase reaching approximately 120 million in Britain and in Australia on the other hand it just came back the way it was a few years ago to 40 million. The British cinema attendances from 1988-2000 kept growing at a high rate till it reached an astounding 150 million. In Australia on the other hand, it remained constant till 1990, and then later increased to 90 million in 2000.
In general cinema attendances were always, higher in Britain than in Australia.
